Bulk aggregates, including rock and minerals, can be moved productively and efficiently with FreightCar America’s durable, all-steel aggregate gondola car design. FreightCar America aggregate gondola cars feature welded sides and reinforced horizontal and vertical stiffeners in the end construction. The car design includes clean-out doors at four corners, pinned top chord connections and interior lower shed plates at ends for ease of unloading and cleaning. The center sill assembly can be configured with draft arm castings and our patented one-piece cold-rolled center sill, or patented fabricated construction, providing strength and durability for your needs.
Aggregate gondola cars are offered in various sizes and capacities, and bodies can be all steel or a combination of steel and stainless to maximize corrosion resistance and provide long-term reliability and performance.
