Sand, rock or minerals can be moved productively and efficiently with FreightCar America’s durable, all-steel aggregate gondola car design. FreightCar America aggregate gondola cars feature welded sides. The car design includes clean-out doors at four corners, pinned top chord connections and interior lower slope sheets at ends for ease of cleaning. The center sill assembly incorporates draft arm castings and our patented one-piece cold-rolled center sill, providing strength and durability for your needs.
Aggregate gondola cars are offered in various sizes, and bodies can be all steel or a combination of steel and stainless. They can be created from virtually any standard draft gear donor car.
