Aluminum Quad Hopper Car

FreightCar America's Aluminum Quad Hopper is another quality product in our aluminum coal car line. The Quad Hopper is an outside stake car with a manual outlet door system. In addition to bottom discharge capabilities, this car can also be equipped with rotary couplers to maximize unloading capability. The Quad Hopper has a light weight of 48,900 pounds, with a capacity of 3,770 cubic feet (level).

As with all FreightCar America aluminum freight cars, great emphasis has been placed on the design and manufacture of a car that provides its customers with an optimum balance of light weight and high capacity. The addition of the high strength, cold rolled center sill (standard equipment on our current Quad Hopper design) provides a combination of strength and light weight.
